This series was created for the Utata Summer 2014 Big Project:

"By ironic we mean … you know … ironic. Mobile photography is often derided for its clichés and tweeness. Shots of your lunch. Self-portraits in bathroom mirrors. A blurred nightclub shot of drunken, gurning friends. The images that make up 98% of Instagram and Hipstamatic. The sort of thing that any self-respecting photography snob would sneer at.
But Utata is not one for snobbish sneering. We want you to embrace those clichés. You can be as arch and knowing as you like. Reimagine the duckface selfie."

so i went out and reimagined the changing room selfie (thank you, dear zara staff for your patience!).
my rules: to collect as many items as i could carry and would not even try on normally, because of their material or style.
then try to take a picture in a changing room. ;)

some thoughts i had during this project earlier:

help, the deadline is approaching and i have to use my phone to take pictures. normally i do this all the time, but now that i have to..i have no idea what to do.

and later:

why can it be so difficult to choose something to wear that you would not wear normally?

it's incredible how comfortable/ uncomfortable we can feel in different clothes.

this was fun and a good trick if you want to expand your limits and start to think about labels and genres in a different way.

what's the difference between hip hop and rap?

i should do this more often. everybody should.
ok,.. almost everybody is doing this already, now i understand why.. ;)

thank you, utata! <3
