On patrol

I love candid shots, those slice of life images of people doing their thing, and Santa Cruz offers a vast array of potential subjects. From the ocean, the locals and tourists, to iconic landmarks, there is always something to see. And a road to see it from. We drive along the coast, checking ocean conditions and the camera is always in my hands, my eyes constantly scanning for the next shot. Part of the fun is being quick enough to see a potential image, frame it and hit the shutter button before it’s gone. It’s a game that will often reward you with a photograph you never would have gotten on foot.
