Privacy Isn't Secrets

The other thing about baring your heart is that it doesn't mean you can't still be, really and truly, quite private. The oddest, most counter-intuitive thing I've learned in these last few years is that privacy isn't the same thing as keeping secrets.

Privacy is being free to choose which secrets you share and which you continue to keep close to you, tucked under your hat. Privacy is being able to turn off the tap whenever you like. And sometimes, privacy is spilling a hundred secrets so no one realizes you’ve got a hundred more, saved up for a rainy day and another story to tell.
