and finally

--My definition of a semantic photographer is one that captures and shares moments in time in a context that is readily given interpretation and meaning by viewers and which makes new links to other images, photographers and experiences. For me it’s more about context, development and sharing than content.

Is my life changing because of a cute little Canon answering to most terms of endearments? Is the way I think about specific issues and challenges changing? Is my outlook on life more interesting because I take photographs? You bet it is!

As corny as it sounds I am discovering a whole new world through a lens. I am making new friends with whom I share a passion and I wake up smiling at 4am ready to leap out of bed to see what the sunrise looks like. I no longer close my eyes when I struggle to understand something (at least I try hard not to).

Has Flickr made a difference to the way I approach photography and, in turn, other aspects of my life? Most certainly! I continue to be amazed just how far many people and groups will go to support fledgling photographers. The continuing warmth, support and encouragement from my Flickr contacts keeps me focused and enthusiastic to explore and share.
