Falling (a selfie portrait)
On the last snowy day of the year I went for a walk. At the time we knew everything was metaphorically falling around us but had no notion of the problem's magnitude. One article suggests 1 in 5 small businesses are only weeks away from permanent closure. Restaurants, in particular, have a business model unsustainable in an agoraphobic world. Colleges and universities are also on the chopping block with enrollments expected to decrease as students take a "gap year" or online offerings are evaluated economically, rather than for the "community" they bring together.
