Eric isn't the only local comedian celebrated in the town. Thora Hird gets a ceramic mosaic on Victoria Street, alongside Lawrence Olivier. Sir Larry earns his place for portraying 'The Entertainer', a down at heel music hall performer. The film, based on a John Osbourne play, was filmed in Morecambe back in 1960. A tenuous connection compared with authentic Sandgrown 'un's Eric and Thora but there he is.
