I was struggling to find a unique angle on the Utatamon Go project until I made a find, an unused, Fujifilm Instax camera hidden in my attic for 15 years. What better camera to record a touristy visit around some of the public artworks in this resort town?

The first stop had to be the statue of Eric Morecambe. The most popular artwork in Morecambe and almost certainly the most popular statue of a comedian in the world. Eric, who named himself after his hometown, is rarely alone. People come to see him, be photographed with him, hug him and copy his famous pose, They festively dress him up at Christmas, visiting football fans drape replica shirts, hats and scarves over him and the love from all is tangible. Quite a memorial for a chap whose great achievement was simply making people laugh.
