Light and shadow. Line and form. Space and texture.

These are some of the fundamental elements of art. We generally only think of them in relationship to each other–as parts of the whole composition. We seldom view them as individual components. Here we can do both. We can appreciate the whole even as we admire the light as light, the shadow as shadow, the line, the form, the space, the texture, each as intricate in itself as in combination with the rest.

Even beyond that, we can relish the fact that Jeff recognized what he saw as worthy of stopping, of admiring, of recording, and sharing with others. It truly does speak to us.
