Two By Two : Pumps

Created for Utata's Diptych project.

Here I've combined this pronto-plate created image with its original digital source. The combination of the two images together illustrates the process of decay. The orange/brown emphasizing rust.

The process: Shot original digital image. Made two new files: one emphasizing darks, other lights. Printed onto a pronto plates (sheets of mylar) with a laser printer. Dampened lighter pronto plate with sponge. Ran orange ink roller over top - thus ink only sticking to laser ink. Cranked through traditional print press onto domestic etch paper.
Repeated with darker plate using brown ink. Registered onto paper and ran through press again.
