The set-up for this series was inspired by the painter Edward Hopper. Hopper's paintings of lit interiors as seen from the darkness outside (as in his work entitled Nighthawks) create the impression of the artist as voyeur. I see photographers, painters and other artists as "watchers", observing life more than participating in it. It is a role I relate to, on the outside looking in.
