We'd known our house was built in the early 1930's. The builder constructed three, one for himself and two to create new neighbours. There had been a creek running down the road, and the first children who lived here needed to cross a rudimentary bridge over it to get to school. Other than that I didn't really think about how different Toronto was in the 30's.
