Monson converted one of their first order of 26' flatcars, No. 9, into this snow spreaded. In practice, a plow was pushed in front of an engine and this spreader would trail behind. When not in use the spreader was kept on the turntable in Monson. Interestingly, none of the locomotives were ever turned. They ran about equally well in either direction on the rails.
