Talking Hands

As a sometime student of American Sign Language I have learned that communication by gesture is more than just a novelty. It is a true language with a unique structure, syntax, and idiom. To me, even without being able to translate, I find poetry in the movement. I have attended the performance of the Kansas City Men's Chorus several times and while the Christmas music is very well done I have to admit that I generally sit mesmerized by the performance of the ASL interpreter, hardly hearing the music at all.
